About The Vanguard School
The Vanguard School is an independent, co-educational, boarding and day school for students who celebrate diversity in learning, culture, and skills.
Since 1966, they have educated students in an environment that celebrates their strengths and supports them in overcoming individual challenges. They specialise in helping students who experience ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and High Functioning Autism (Asperger’s), excel to their fullest potential based on their Core Values Leadership system.
Curriculum: Individually prepare students for lifelong learning and connection to core values. They oﬀer academic recovery, dual enrolment with a local college/technical school, and a targeted learning path for each student.
Specialty Curriculum: Intensive Reading and Math and Personal Communication Skills, electives in technology and the arts.

Facilities: Newly renovated classrooms, Student Centre, Performing Arts Centre, Dining Hall, Male and Female Dormitories, on-site Infirmary with quarantine rooms, Science and Culinary Laboratory Building, Gymnasium, Fitness Centre, soccer field, tennis courts, and outdoor pool on their 77-acre campus.
Boarding Facilities: Two students per room maximum. Boys’ dormitories oﬀer privacy walls in each room, privacy stalls in the shower room, open-air seating, and direct access to an outdoor basketball court. The female dormitories oﬀer comfortable homestyle living with private bathrooms, open-air seating, and scenic views.
Meals: Hot and cold, vegetarian, tree nut-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, and other allergens.
Sports: They oﬀer basketball, tennis, swim, cross country, track & field, weightlifting, archery, and golf.
Amenities: Swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness centre, equine therapy, intramural/competitive sports, targeted life skills groups, culinary lab, lake access for canoeing/fishing, auditorium, team building, sensory room, therapeutic coordination, and active
